Are you ready to design some prints? Block printing is a fun way to create cards, paper goods and textiles with cool patterns and layered illustrations. In this workshop you will learn how to draw and transfer your image to a rubber printing block, hand carve your design using lino cutters and then print using brayers, Speedball inks and Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. We will have all the supplies and plenty of inspiration ready for you to start making!
In this workshop you will learn:
Introduction to general block printing tools
How to create patterns and layered designs
How to draw and transfer your design on a carving block
Key carving techniques
How to use ink pads in paper crafting
Essential tips for block printing onto paper and canvas
Your workshop also includes:
- use of all supplies to create one or multiple printing designs (4" x 6" rubber pad, lino cutters, brayers, ink & ink pads in multiple vibrant colours, 35 Annie Sloan Chalk Paint colours and more!)
- a set of 6 greeting cards & envelopes and a set of muslin dish cloths
- a variety of non-alcoholic beverages and light snacks
- your hand-carved stamps and your finished greeting cards & muslin dish cloths to take home!
BYOB and BYB (Bring Your Besties)! Crafting is paired best with good company and your favourite drink of choice. We'll supply the glassware!
